Eunyul (Park Hanbitnara) possesses a special ability to glimpse what lies ahead for her - but only when she sits on a certain bench on her home island of Geoje. Carrying Robert Walser’s The Walk, a gift from an ex-lover, Eunyul returns to her hometown. There, she meets her senior Minjeong (Kang Soyi) and Minjeong’s partner Jigeun (Ha Seong-guk), someone who remains a painful memory for Eunyul. A stranger also travels through. And in these encounters, she comes face to face with herself. The bench in Nothing Has Happened Yet may well be nothing more than the most ordinary of objects. If it can become a place where the future can be glimpsed, perhaps that possibility arises from the temperament, gaze, and inner workings of a walker - someone who turns to look around, ambles into the unknowable natural world, and deliberately steps off the path. The film calmly and steadily probes just how fortunate, how comforting, and how full of possibility it is that nothing has happened yet.
