What does it mean to be an actor? The first documentary devoted to Yamazaki Tsutomu follows his pursuit of the craft as he confronts old age and cancer. Through an extensive interview and accounts from those influenced by his work, it traces the journey of a talent first recognized by Kurosawa Akira, revealing postwar Japan through one actor's life.
