Lonely college student Chihiro undergoes a treatment to erase his memories in order to forget his unhappy past. But when he wakes up, his memories remain—and he finds himself remembering his first love with Toka, a childhood friend he has never met. Though Toka should exist only in his fabricated memories, Chihiro finds himself increasingly unable to get her out of his mind. Then one day, Toka appears in the real world. Who is she? And are the memories that connect them real or a lie?

Nakagawa is a filmmaker and screenwriter. August in Tokyo (2013) and Tokyo Sunrise (2014) were selected for the Japanese Cinema Splash section at the Tokyo IFF. Summer Blooms (2017) received the FIPRESCI Award and the Russian Film Critics Award – Special Mention at the Moscow IFF, while Mio on the Shore (2019) was specially invited to the same festival. Silent Rain (2020) was officially invited to the Busan IFF.
