Kanna, a 29-year-old illustrator living in Kyoto, is consumed by a yearning to express herself and loneliness. Having lost sight of what she wants to draw, she drifts through life, escaping into inertia and unfulfilling romances. A phone call from Haseo, a "guy friend" who has somehow always understood her since they first met, brings them together again after seven years. What will Kanna find at the end of their "three nights" in Kyoto, Toyama, and Hiroshima? Director Mishima Yukiko breaks new ground, capturing unspoken emotions and subtle shifts in body temperature in powerful long takes.

Photo / Ryo Nagata Mishima began her career directing documentaries for NHK. Her film Dear Etranger (2017) won the Special Grand Prix of the Jury at the Montreal World Film Festival. In 2022, a retrospective of her work was held in Italy, and Voice (2024) was selected for the Competition at the Udine Far East Film Festival. She captures human contradictions and social fissures with a keen eye and a refined visual style.
