Action/Martial ArtsHistory/War

In the late 19th century, after the Meiji Restoration, the era of the samurai came to an end. Lost in the allure of luxury, the upper class willfully ignores the suffering of the impoverished masses amid rampant pandemics. In this era of turmoil, 292 warriors, lured by a massive cash prize, enter a battle royale hosted by a mysterious figure. The assassin Shujiro, to protect his family, once again draws the sword he had set aside, but in this brutal game where one must kill to survive, the ghosts of a past he wanted to keep buried are resurrected. Last Samurai Standing is a highly-anticipated project in which Okada Junichi takes on three roles: lead actor, action choreographer, and producer. This mega-blockbuster series boasts an all-star cast of Japan′s top actors in both lead and supporting roles. With unprecedented scale and uncompromising quality, it is destined to redefine the landscape of Japanese drama production.
