“Woochi is a film many call the original K-superhero movie, and I’m excited to enjoy it with audiences on the big screen again after such a long time.” — Actor GANG Dong-won
Choi Dong-hoon knows how to unravel the complexities of human relationships within genre cinema—where numerous characters waver between good and evil until, in the end, no one can truly be trusted. The characters are swayed by circumstance, and these ambiguous identities are deftly orchestrated. He nimbly shifts the rhythm of the film depending on the characters and events. Woochi blends martial arts, comedy, and fantasy, leaping across time and space, weaving between reality and the fantastic, and freely transforming dreams, life, truth, illusion, and even cinema itself. The showdown between Jeon Woochi (Gang Dong-won), who conjures clones, summons winds, and bends reality, and nemesis Hwadam (Kim Yoon-suk) generates a visceral thrill: the light, airy flight of wind and the heavy thud of bodies crashing to the ground are heightened through dazzling editing.
