In 2024, anti-government protests in Serbia are intense in Zemun, Belgrade. Rena, 20, is a left-wing activist participating in a student-led boycott movement. Stefan, 22, thinking about his future, sides with the government. Though political opposites, they share a common desire to escape their families and society and find freedom. Amid the chaos they begin their journey of escape to the place where Rena spent her childhood. With striking visuals and sound, a chaotic blend of road movie, melodrama, coming-of-age story, and crime films explodes in Until the Day Ends, debut feature by emerging director Jelena Maksimović.
