Akemi becomes deeply frustrated by the gender discrimination she has endured after the conversation with younger colleagues. Realizing the situation hasn’t changed, she attempts to challenge it on her own.

A Japan-based film producer and director. She leads a visual production team called Arrdep. In 2009, she directed a documentary film Sanlibutan. Her directorial works includes About the Beginning of My Journey (2022) and Creating the Imaginary (2023).
