Park Songyeol was born in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province in 1981. He majored in film in college and, after graduating, made the short film Night and Dream (2013), which was introduced at major domestic film festivals. Alongside actress Won Hyangra, he prepared his feature debut, Can We Just Love (2018), and established the production company "Saranghaja." With his feature Hot in Day Cold at Night (2021), he won the Critic b Award, the KBS Independent Film Award at the Busan International Film Festival. Following Kike Will Hit a Home Run (2024), he returns to the Busan International Film Festival with his fourth feature film, Beyond Love′s Horizon.
