Creators' Salon: Chinese Abroad - Diaspora Stories That Stay New in the "Immigrant Trilogy" (Mabel Cheung)

创作者沙龙《中国人在异乡：“移民三部曲”里历久常新的离散故事》（张婉婷）

More than thirty years later, director Mabel Cheung comes back to Chaoshan. In the afternoon she will talk about her work over the years on migration, home and film. In the evening she and Sylvia Chang will watch Eight Taels of Gold again with everyone and talk about how each of them understands it, their circumstances, their hopes and their gratitude. As the images flow, everyone may remember something of their own: leaving home for the first time, the goodbyes never spoken. Some will think of nothing at all, simply drawn back by something, appearing, gathering and parting naturally.
