The renowned film director Esteban Martínez returns to Spain to shoot his latest film. To play one of the characters, he decides to call Emilia Vera, his daughter, whom he has not seen for 13 years. Emilia is a little-known actress who believes she has overcome her father's abandonment, but accepting this offer will make her (re)discover all the complexities, rough edges, and contradictions of a man she could never call beloved.
During the shoot, they face challenges that put both their careers and their personal relationship at risk, as the weight of the past threatens to reopen old wounds.
