Everyone dreams of owning a home in a brand-new apartment complex. But can such a dream really promise a humane and happy life? Seda moves into Oasis Park, a luxury residential complex boasting immense scale and lavish amenities. Yet with nowhere to eat and hardly anyone to talk to, the place gradually becomes a vast space of isolation. Meanwhile, for some, an unfinished high-rise construction site is a precious home. Construction workers, cleaners, and others gradually gather there, forming a community and building a small world of their own amid the raw concrete structures. Through the contrast between these two groups and the spaces they inhabit, the film reveals the social disparities and inequalities mediated by architecture, while inviting us to reconsider the meaning of community and home in a rapidly growing city. Filmmaker, cinematographer, and visual artist Ivan Marković brings the spaces to life and delicately captures the characters’ emotions through striking imagery and restrained language.
